Nightwish in Edmonton

Nightwish, made their first ever appearance in Edmonton on May 16 2008. They played their debut at a sold out show at the Starlite Room. I was completely blown out of the water by the performance ... Those of you that wanted to go, but missed the boat - regret must be painful. This show was sooo good, I'll fly down to any city on their next American tour if Edmonton is left out of the loop. Marco's voice sounded as true live as on the CD. The new vocalist, Anette did a pretty good job on the stage and fits with the band quite well. Emppu was a real crowd pleaser by throwing a whole bunch of guitar chips into the crowd.
The American Tour was promoting their new album, Dark Passion Play.

The opening act was Sonic Syndicate. I must say, I have never heard of them before that day. After a couple of songs I was hooked. Ronald & Richard Johansson have amazing voices & great stage presence. My favorite song: denied & enclave

wow! you were able to snap pictures @ the starlight? usually the bouncers have such hissy fits and confiscate cameras.

great pics though. i totally dig the venue for the small intimate rock/alt concerts
